A little bit about me:

I am the Founder and Medical Director of Praana Integrative Medicine & Holistic Health Center in Sugar Land, TX. I am Board Certified in Internal Medicine & in Integrative & Holistic Medicine. I am also a Functional Medicine Physician with extensive training done with the Institute for Functional Medicine and am among the first group of physicians to be certified in Functional Medicine in 2013. I am a Certified Perfect Health Ayurvedic Lifestyle (Ayurveda, Nutrition, Yoga & Meditation) Teacher. I am a certified Therapeutic Lifestyle Change /First Line Therapy Practitioner. I am Tier 2 Certified by the Gluten Free Society.

I firmly believe that each patient is a unique individual with their own differences in genetics, lifestyle, and mind, body and spirit make up, so a medical system based on “one size fits all” approach cannot ever work to bring true healing. My intention is always to provide my patients with personalized and individualized care and to find out the underlying causes for their “dis-ease” instead of implementing the band-aid philosophy of giving drugs and suppressing symptoms! Nutritional advise is always the primary intervention in my opinion for any long lasting change. I am always willing to look at alternative and complementary methods of treating chronic diseases and trying to integrate them together with modern medicine, in order to develop a unique treatment plan which is specific only to that particular patient!

My Philosophy:

I have extensive training in Functional Medicine and Functional Nutrition. My philosophy has always been “food first” and I see amazing results using a Primal/Paleo diet with my chronic disease patients on a regular basis. The diet has indisputable scientific validation and supports the needs of the body as a whole. It is nourishing as well as easy, so patients can follow it forever.

I personally follow a Primal/Paleo nutritional plan since I believe strongly that food that anyone consumes needs to be anti-inflammatory and that is exactly what this kind of a diet plan is. There is no better medicine than “real” food and no worse toxin than inflammatory food! I see a lot of chronic disease patients, a vast majority of whom have sensitivities to grain and once I change their diet there is such a dramatic improvement in their symptoms, that I have become a believer. Not only are their symptoms reversed, but I have seen an immense improvement in their Athletic performance and overall well-being with a Primal/Paleo lifestyle.
