Omega-3 Fatty Acids Directly Prevent Breast Cancer

Scientists in Canada have proven for the first time in history that there is a direct causal link between lifelong omega-3 fatty acid consumption and breast cancer.  The research was published in The Journal of Nutritional Biochemistry.

Breast cancer is the number one killer of women worldwide in terms of cancer.  Do you know someone who has battled breast cancer?  Are you battling breast cancer?  Would you like to prevent it from ever happening again to anyone you love?

The Breast Cancer Solution

The solution is omega-3 fish oil.  The scientists proved that the higher your lifetime consumption of omega-3 fatty acids is, the lower your risk of breast cancer.  This is important for your children.  You can prevent breast cancer in your children before they’re ever born.  The study stated that the 2 most important times for children to be taking fish oil is in utero (while mom is pregnant) and during puberty.  These 2 times are important because they are periods of rapid growth.  During rapid growth there is a lot of cell turnover.  If the environment is rich in omega-3 during this rapid growth phase, the new cells will have high amounts of omega-3 fatty acids in them; making them resistant to cancer, in this case, breast cancer.

Look for an omega-3 supplement that is in Triglyceride form (not ethyl ester, which contains alcohol, is much less bioavailable and can give you ‘fish burps”). Aim for 3mg of EPA and DHA daily. Also look to reduce the amount of omega-6 fatty acids in your diet as they COMPETE with omega-3s for uptake into your cells. Too much vegetable oil (fried and processed foods) and solid fats like butter and shortening can result in your body taking up less omega-3s, even with a good supplement.
