A little bit about me:
I am a medical hospital resident with a passion for preventative medicine based on evolutionary principles. I spend my (now very limited) spare time researching topics on nutrition, lifestyle and disease and sharing what I find on my blog. I follow primal principles in my own life with the focus on whole nutritious food, not food-like industrial substances. My long term goal is to open a general practice specialising in weight and chronic disease management, as well as children’s health. On my days off I enjoy road cycling, beach, good coffee and an occasional treat of dark chocolate.
My Philosophy
I believe that we took a wrong turn in our quest for health and longevity in the last 50 years by reducing our food to a sum of macro- and micronutrients. We also made radical changes in the way we work, sleep, stay active and interact with nature. We created ourselves an environment which is foreign to our genes and restrictive to our potential. Primal lifestyle to me is not a re-enactment of the distant past. It is a recognition that we were shaped by the millions of years of evolution not decades of food and nutrition science. It is truly appalling that humans are the only species on earth who have lost an instinctive sense of what to feed our bodies and how to stay healthy. I consider it my duty as a doctor to promote paleo/primal diet and lifestyle to my patients, my readers and anyone who is fed up with conventional recommendations.
